It is so good to call Haywood County HOME!
Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina, one just can't help but be drawn to the beauty of this part of the world. We have so much to offer!
Good year-round weather, four distinct seasons, nature literally at your doorstep and so much more. We border the Great Smoky Mountain National Park which is the most visited park in the U.S. and the famous Blue Ridge Parkway runs the southern border for over 50 miles.
Also, we have abundant water, all of which flow out of the county rather than into the county which is important to note for the clean source of this precious resource. We are graced to have over 10 mountain peaks that are over 6000' in elevation and this affords the outdoor pleasure of hiking through nature.
And to see all the beauty that the county offers, one needs a good road system!
We are serviced by interstate 40 and other 4 lane highways making it a breeze to get from where you are to where you want to be in a matter of a few minutes. Additionally, we have good access by air as we are serviced by the nearby Asheville airport which has direct flights to Chicago, New York, Miami and others along the east coast.
The history of the peoples who settled here more than 225 years ago shows through in the makeup of our communities and a true mountain spirit that one is drawn to. This heritage is reflected in our festivals. We have the longest-running Labor Day festival in the southeast that happens in Canton, NC. Maggie Valley has a constant stream of special events which again showcases our heritage. Waynesville, the county seat, has a vibrant, award-winning downtown area that is host to a number of regular and special events. The Folkmoot International dance festival held in July has been held for over 30 years and brings in over a dozen dance groups from all over the world to present their culture through dance and music. Again, much of this is reflective of our properties.
Property in Haywood County is as diverse as its surroundings. Residential properties in Waynesville, NC for example, reflect the culture of distinct mountain heritage. Either by the materials used or the placement of the home within the surroundings, we have some of the most unique properties in Western North Carolina.
If you are looking into land or residential properties for sale in Waynesville, NC or any of our neighboring towns, then this is the best place to start!
